Day2
Today we are doing the second part of the job, shooting the outside shots, the “above the water “ part of the TV Commercial and the still photos.
The morning went well and we got the filming over just after noon.
After some technical problems with the underwater photo equipment the plan was changed. Instead of the pics being taken underwater, we had to hang by harnesses on top and surrounded of big fans. After Zacs voice started to get thin the client decided it was enough. I’m not sure, but I think Zac managed to keep his manhood intact even tough the super tight harness.

So as the competition got cancelled an offer came that would bring together my two passions: Freediving and modeling. I was put in option for a campaign for a Portuguese Mineral Water to be filmed in Romania. And so I flew to Romania to film for Agua das Pedras. The crew was exceptionally professional, and everyone was really nice. Day1. After rehearsal I had a try of my beautiful extra long (over6 meters!) dress. Thermostat showed 26 degrees, which of course prove to be not enough after a couple of minutes of been immersed. A bar was constructed inside a green swimming pool (yes, I was really worried about my eyesight when I first saw it!) to imitate what was another bar that was built in an antique house. The task was not easy. In every breath to be taken in the surface, the weight of the dress would pull me back down. Besides that I had to take extra care not to hit my head in the huge lamps that where just hanging a few centimeters above the surface. But for me the fact of being underwater meant I didn’t have to represent at all. It was like a dream where I tried to show trough a mix of movements what I really feel while underwater. It whas for me the closer I got to be a mermaid.
Everyone was pleased and the results are here to be seen. :)

Just a couple of days before the competiton started , news from Eyjafjallajökull eruption crossed the world. The icelandic Vulcano spitted ashes to heights over 9 km causing significant disruption to European air travel. The whole competition came to a hold. From 55 registred athletes only 18 managed to arrive.The whole crew from the organization and the prizes where all stranded , spread out in many different countries. It was total chaos, every diver trying to travel by car train whatever it would take just to get to Dahab on time for some training or even to manage to get at least a day of participating of the comp. From there started a strain of events where one day the ashes would calm down and bring peoples hopes high to a next day with more ashes and more mess. Thats until the Organizer Sebastian decided to cancelled the whole competition and let other organizers make a smaller one to take care for the divers that were already in Egypt. Lots of frustrations but a good fair decision after all.

Back To The Start

Back in Dahab...

So here I was again, training for the same competition that a year ago was my first fd experience.

The goats and camels saluted me and the beautiful smell of "Dahab flowers"-Le garbage overcome my senses ahhh is good to be back home! Now staying in a new house, we had more space for shisha meetings, yoga and movies sessions- oh yeah and our catering of flies. The bastards were multipling by he second and taking over the house while we slept. Not even the electric raquet brough from Brazil was enough as the bitches were somehow sonarized and would always scape!

Anyhow, It took some days to get use to the old routine. Waking up early somehow didn't work so i managed to push everyone to start picking up time at 9:30 wich got as to Blue Hole 10ish -Egyptian Time of course!

The city was quite empty, and the water freaking cold!-(wasn't Egypt supposed to be hot?!!) I soon realized why everyone was still wearing a 5mm! Fuck spartans, time for chickening...I ended up with a starnge mix of a long 5mm and 3mm jaquet wich left me with some arms flexibility while not freezing my buttie.

I was worried that the time I took off due to my foot operation would screw my diving, but the strengh training I got back in Rio de Janeiro (thanks guys fom ABodytech!)prove to have worked and i didnt feel lactic at all wich was great both phisically and mentally. On the other hand the op was too recent and after a couple of minutes with the fin the pain was too much to endure.

So i took it easy and decided i didnt want to screw the foot as a new comp will be on the following month and instead I offer to help with the organization of the competition.

That's where all the problems started.

RBS TV shoot for Estudio Santa Catarina, interview with Larissa Schimidt

This week we went with RBS , Globo TV of South Brazil, to shoot for Estudio Santa Catarina Program.

We took of from Ponta das Canas Beach, on the north of the island together with Sea Divers crew straight to Arvoredo Island. This is the biggest of many smaller islands that surround Florianopolis. Its an envorimental protective area,and gets its name-Arvore= trees from beign tottaly covered ith Atlantic forest.

The equipe was composed by Larissa Schimidt the reporter, Edson camera and support safety diver Raquel Milliori.

The day was looking perfect! sunny sky and soft breese making the journey very enjoyable.

Unfortunately n the water conditions werent't the same. A mild to strong current was picking up and breathing up at surface wasnt the easiest task. Nevertheless visibility was nice and i think we manage to get some nice shots!

We spoke a bit about the transition from modeling to freediver and i told a litle bit of my adventures in Egypt:)

Im really looking forward to seeing the program. It's supposed to be showing on the first Sunday of 2010 after Fantastico program..

It was a really great day!Freediving in my home island :) ahh

So here i say goodbye for a bit...

Today i embark in a new diving Adventure.

I am going to the Pacific Ocean, dive in the Revillagigedos Archipelago, also knowned as Socorro About 250 miles (ouch!) south of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Fingers Crossed there will be lots of sharks and mantas and lots of good stories to tell!

Day 2 interview with Andre Tasinari. Jurere Beach, Florianopolis Island.

And so we went to get more shots , this time in Jurere Beach, One of the most prestigious beaches in Florianopolis Island. The day was beautiful, but the wind wasnt helping much...Still i felt much more at home to be close to the sea:)I hope the audio will be ok-fingers crossed! Andre was wicked and patient as always. Valeu!:)
